I use an integrative, trauma-informed approach that combines evidence-based psychotherapy with a holistic understanding of emotional, physical, and spiritual well-being.
My specialized training includes Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). I also incorporate approaches such as client-centered therapy, motivational interviewing, mindfulness, and other therapeutic techniques based on each client's needs.
I believe our emotional health is deeply connected to our personal experiences, relationships, physical health, beliefs, and sense of meaning and purpose. My approach considers the whole person, including mind, body, and spirit, and recognizes that spirituality can be an important part of healing and personal growth for some individuals.
Treatment is always personalized and collaborative, with respect for your individual values, beliefs, and preferences. When appropriate and with your permission, I may also coordinate care with other healthcare professionals to support your overall well-being.

No. As a licensed mental health counselor, I provide psychotherapy but do not prescribe medication.
Medication can be a helpful part of mental health treatment for some individuals, while others experience meaningful improvement through therapy alone. Whether medication is appropriate depends on your individual needs and circumstances.
If you're interested in exploring medication options, I recommend speaking with your primary care physician or a psychiatrist. I can also provide referrals to psychiatric providers in the Fort Walton Beach area.
If you're already taking psychiatric medication, I can coordinate care with your prescribing provider, with your permission, to support a comprehensive treatment approach.

Yes! Accessibility is very important to me. My office in Shalimar, Florida, was completely renovated in 2022 with accessibility and comfort in mind.
Clients who use wheelchairs, walkers, canes, and other mobility aids are welcome, as are service animals.
If you have specific accessibility needs or require additional accommodations, please let me know before your appointment. I'm happy to discuss how I can help make your visit as comfortable and accessible as possible.

I am an out-of-network provider and do not bill insurance directly. Clients pay for their sessions at the time of service.
If your insurance plan includes out-of-network mental health benefits, you may be eligible for partial reimbursement. I can provide a superbill, which you can submit to your insurance company for consideration. Reimbursement depends on your individual plan, deductible, and coverage, so I recommend contacting your insurance provider to verify your benefits before beginning therapy.
I also accept Health Savings Account (HSA) and Flexible Spending Account (FSA) cards for eligible services.
Why choose private-pay therapy?
Private-pay therapy allows us to make treatment decisions based on your individual needs rather than the requirements of an insurance company. It also gives you the freedom to choose a therapist based on their experience, specialized training, and approach, regardless of network participation.
Using insurance benefits generally requires a qualifying mental health diagnosis and the disclosure of certain clinical information to your insurance company. Paying privately allows you greater control over what information is shared with your insurer, although clinical records are still maintained as required.
My priority is providing thoughtful, individualized treatment focused on your goals and progress.
